Greyhound Hill

pothole

Outside Rose Cottages on Greyhound Hill. The pothole is 0.7x0.7m in size and up to 10 cm in depth along its sharp upward edge. Water issues need to be addressed here in order to make repairs permanent.

Towards the bottom of Greyhound Hill, below Rose Cottages (which can be seen in the right-hand photo). Very much the same in dimensions as above, namely 0.7x0.7m in size and up to 10 cm in depth, with very sharp edges and had excavated the road's sub-base .. which shows how lightly the road has been built! Natural water issues make this part of the lane continuously wet.

Drainage and water issues combine for a wet environment, and road defects characterise the floor of the valley. Defects are large in area, uneven and certainly dangerous for cyclists, but not deep.
